Our Story

From big mistakes to wonderful triumphs!

I will never forget the day I was gifted a beautiful red kitchen aid mixer. Aunt Sarah randomly said she had gotten a new one and she wanted this one out of her hands. I did not bake, I didn’t like baking for that matter. But my husband encouraged me to try it just once, I fell in love immediately! From that moment on, I baked multiple times a week for years.

Then the unthinkable happened, I was diagnosed with celiacs, I was only a couple weeks from knowing I was pregnant too. Timing could not be worse, I craved sweets every night. Baking gluten free was a disaster, my loaves of bread literally exploded in the oven, my cookies never expanded. I ignored my mixer for a long time, but then I was also diagnosed with gestational diabetes. So I went back to my mixer, we had a talk and we gave ourselves grace. We slowly learned the ratios, learned that weighing is always more reliable. Our friends were amazing, week after week, they tried gluten free pastries that could sometimes chip a tooth! Our families were always available with their honest criticism, until we made items that everyone enjoyed eating.
